What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that helps heal mind, body and spirit. The word is actually made up of two Japanese words Rei – (Universal),
and Ki meaning (energy). This energy is sent to us from the universal life force that governs all existence. This life force has always existed and
at this moment
We all have many energy centres in our bodies. These are known as chakras and they are part of the basis of Reiki practice. These chakras are
like swirling vortexes in many parts of the body, but generally we only concern ourselves with the seven main chakras.

Each of these chakras have a purpose in relation to wellbeing of different parts of mind, body and spirit. The Solar Plexus for example is the
Emotional centre. When we feel nervous we may feel ‘butterflies’ in our stomach, this is really emotions building up that can cause a nervous
disposition.

With Reiki you are able to release these anxieties and any blocks that you may have in your chakras.

What happens during a treatment?

A typically Reiki treatment will last about 40minutes to an hour. The treatment itself is noninvasive, and the client remains fully clothed at all
times. The treatment can be hands on, but this is not absolutely necessary. Reiki will work just as well with the practitioner’s hands are just
above the clients body, but not actually touching it.

Some people do feel different psychical sensations while the treatment is occurring. These may include; heat, coldness, pins and needles or just
a gentle pressure. It is OK if you fall asleep during the session as it indicates deep relaxation, which is always good.

What benefits can Reiki have?

Reiki can be used for many types of aliments and conditions. It is important to note that Reiki is NOT to be used instead of traditional
medicine. It is a complementary therapy, and no Reiki practitioner should ever advise you not to keep taking medication.

What Reiki can be used for:

Stress
Anxiety
Emotional Issues
Relaxation
Situations
And much more including plants and animals

How can I learn Reiki?

There are three levels of Reiki, and each level has an attunement. The attunement are done by a Reiki Master/ Teacher. This is a person who has
learned and practiced all levels of Reiki and who passes on the gift of Reiki to the student.

Level 1

At Level 1 the energy vibrations of your body will increase sevenfold; this enables you to access the Reiki energy.  As the Reiki energy becomes
increasingly accessible to the student, he or she is able to perform self healing and practice on family members.

Level 2

At this stage the student’s vibrations are heightened and allow him or her to access higher Reiki energy and to use Reiki symbols that
strengthen the power of Reiki. Students are now considered to be Reiki practitioners, and they can also perform distant/absent healing.

Distant/Absent Healing

This is a process by which healing is sent to another person or place where the  practitioner is not present. With Reiki there are no such things
as time, space or distance. Healing energy can be sent to anyone in any location or situation. One great example of this is Planetary Healing,
in which Reiki practitioners send healing energy to the Earth itself. Currently the Earth is moving through a major energy cycle, and to help
this happen more easily healing energy is being sent to Mother Nature every three hours from midnight.

Level 3

This level is accessible when you have practiced Reiki on a regular basis as a practitioner. When you are attuned to this level, you are fully
committing yourself to work as a healer and help spirit work on the physical plane. All levels of Reiki energy are now open to you, and you can
now begin the process of training others.

As with all of the levels of attunement, there will be a handbook and certificate presented to each student on completion of their training.

THE FIVE PRINCIPALS OF REIKI

Just for today, I will let go of anger.
Just for today, I will let go of worry.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbour and every living thing.
